2026 Theme: Bridges and Barriers
In 2025, the global community found itself navigating the tension between unprecedented connectivity and persistent divides. From breakthroughs in digital diplomacy and climate cooperation, to contested borders and competing interests, the global order continues to oscillate between bridges and barriers. For the next issue of Hemispheres, we invite submissions that explore this duality as it manifests across international affairs. Submitted papers should consider how barriers—geographic, ideological, economic, or technological—emerge and endure, and how bridges—through diplomacy, innovation, or cooperation—are constructed to transcend them.
